What is Hedgeye Labs?

Hedgeye Labs is where we're reimagining financial research and analysis through direct collaboration with our most engaged users. Drawing inspiration from proven innovation models, we're creating a space where select subscribers can shape the future of our platform.

What Makes Hedgeye Labs Different

We've built Hedgeye Labs on three fundamental approaches that have transformed other industries:

1. User-Driven Development

Inspired by Google Labs[1], we give our most engaged users early access to new features and experimental tools. Your feedback and usage patterns help determine which features graduate to our main platform and how they evolve.

2. Validated Innovation

Following the Lean Startup[2]methodology, we test and validate every new feature with real users before full development. This means the tools we build are shaped by your actual needs, not just our assumptions about what might be useful.

3. Building Expertise Together

Drawing from Kathy Sierra's “Badass Users”[3]framework, we focus on making you more skilled and successful in your financial analysis and decision-making. When you succeed, we succeed.

Why Join Hedgeye Labs?

  • Get early access to new features and tools
  • Directly influence the development of features you'll use
  • Join an exclusive community of highly engaged users
  • Receive special invitations to provide feedback on upcoming features
  • Help shape the future of financial research and analysis
  • Potentially earn invitation rights to bring others into the Labs community

How It Works

1. Access Levels:

  • All paying subscribers can access and participate in certain experiments
  • Selected “Badass Users” get enhanced access to more experimental features and deeper involvement in the development process
  • Non-subscribers can view some public experiments but cannot participate

2. Becoming a Badass User:

  • Any subscriber can apply through our Badass User application form
  • Selected members receive additional privileges and opportunities to shape product development
  • Selection is based on engagement, expertise, and willingness to provide thoughtful feedback

3. Experiment Access:

  • Different experiments are available to different user groups based on their scope and stage
  • Some experiments are open to all subscribers
  • Some are limited to specific user groups or Badass Users
  • Some are viewable (but not accessible) to the public

4. Feedback and Development:

  • Your usage patterns and feedback guide our development
  • Successful features graduate to the main platform
  • Active participants may earn additional privileges

[1] Google Labs was a pioneering platform that allowed users to test and experiment with early-stage products and features. This experimental playground enabled a collaborative innovation process where users could directly influence the development of new tools through their feedback and usage. Many successful Google products started as Google Labs experiments, refined through real user interaction and feedback.

[2] The Lean Startup methodology revolutionized product development by applying scientific method principles to building products. Instead of lengthy development cycles, it emphasizes creating quick prototypes (MVPs), testing them with real users, and iterating based on actual user feedback. This approach ensures that products are shaped by genuine user needs rather than assumptions.

[3] The “Badass Users” concept, developed by Kathy Sierra, focuses on empowering users to excel at what they do. Rather than just creating cool features, this approach prioritizes helping users become more skilled and successful. When users achieve significant improvements through a product, their enthusiasm and results naturally inspire others. We're committed to not just building tools, but to helping our users master financial analysis and decision-making.

Note: While not all experimental features will make it to full release, your participation ensures that those that do will be thoroughly tested and refined based on real user needs.
